instagram and answered prayers.

you know when you've been praying for something for so long that you wonder if God is listening? well friend, He hears you. He knows what you need even before you ask Him. (matthew 6:8for months, i've been praying for a certain situation. i was getting restless, but i kept praying with hope that God would answer. yesterday morning, He answered. praise the Lord, He is faithful! i had a great day yesterday. church, lazy afternoon, movies, family time. God is good. all the time.

the day i fell in love.

picture this: i'm waiting at starbucks for my salted caramel mocha frapp. minding my own business. casually admiring the baked goods. then i see it. the most beautiful piece of cake ever. i mean eh-vur. classic coffee cake, where have you been all my life? it was love at first sight.

ahhh, target.

welcome, new followers!

i am delighted that you took time to stop by and check out my little blog. if you haven't read it yet, there's an 'about me' section that you can check out to learn a little more about me. again, thank you so much for stopping by! i will leave y'all with some pictures i snapped earlier this week.

mama and i went on a little shopping trip this morning. we always have so much fun together! she is the best person to go shopping with. crazy story: i witnessed a guy blatantly run out of the store with an arm full of clothes. bells were going off and everyone was stunned. it made me very thankful that i make my own money. if that guy had enough brains to steal in broad daylight, he has enough brains to get a job. plain and simple. (i'll get off my soapbox now).

turkey sandwich with a twist.

i'm always looking for new recipes, so i wanted to share my new favorite recipe with y'all:
a turkey sandwich with oregano and parmesan cheese. it's uh.may.zing.

 preheat the oven to 425*

slice tomatoes. sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese and oregano on top. bake 7-8 minutes.

pop the bread in the toaster to desired taste.

add turkey and condiments of your choice. (i love mayo!)

VOILA! your taste buds will do the happy dance upon consumption.

you have a delicious sandwich that takes less than 15 minutes from start to finish.

life lately. {according to my iphone}

happy birthday, BOOMER!

well, it's not technically her "birthday", but today is the day we adopted her.

she is 13 years old. wow, how crazy is that?
i remember my brother and i begging my parents to let us have a pet in the house.
we finally had the perfect argument for deserving a pet: we had good grades on our report cards.
BAM! how could they say no? that's right--they couldn't.

13 years later, she is as much apart of this family as i am. she is constant entertainment.
when she's not sleeping (which is a LOT), she's eating (a lot), drinking water in the bathtub,
playing with ice cubes, begging for food, and being mean to me.

i gotta give her credit though. in the past when a boy has broken my heart, she's been there in my bed cuddling with me. she knew i was hurting.

i have a 3 and a half inch scar on my left wrist from where she scratched me right after we brought her home.
i look at that scar, and i can't help but smile. half of my life includes memories with her.
she's my 'widdle coodie'.

 she's so purrrrrdy.

funniest. picture. ever. she reached for the dice, and yawned.

"check out my muscles."

an attitude of gratitude.

today i am thankful for:
  • highways lined with sunflowers
  • my g-ma getting out of the hospital today
  • friends who call/text just to see how you're doing
  • fall boots
  • modesty
  • pumpkin spice cookies
  • brother/sister time
  • the prayers for my g-ma
